Kelvin–Helmholtz instability including mesh

2d simulation of a Kelvin-Helmholz instability. The Voronoi cells are shown explicitly in this move to illustrate the concept of a moving-mesh hydrodynamics simulation.

Kelvin–Helmholtz instability

Higher resolution 2d simulation of a Kelvin-Helmholz instability.

Another Kelvin-Helmholz instability.

Rayleigh–Taylor instability

High resolution 2d simulation of a Rayleigh–Taylor instability.

Shearing disk

Mesh movement of a differentially rotating disk simulation. The cell size depends on radius with increasing the resolution closer to the center.

Gresho vortex

Mesh movement in a Gresho-vortex problem, in which the inner part of the rotating disk shows solid-body rotation and the outer part differential rotation. Some cells are marked to better follow their movement.

Sedov-Taylor test

2d simulation of a Sedov-Taylor test
